The Live Room at Twickenham Stadium was packed at 11.30, and visitors were not going to go home disappointed. The morning started with a Nigel Botterill business information explosion! UK top entrepreneur and founder of seven £m+ businesses in eight years, Nigel Botterill gave a high energy, fast paced, humorous and engaging seminar prior to the start of The Richmond Business Expo.
It was the most entertaining one and a half hours I have ever spent in a business presentation, and maybe when Nigel has finished launching his Million Pound Masterplan, and not forgetting the upcoming Business Owner Success Summits (BOSS), another great business venture could be training others in public speaking!
Time for the exhibition itself. It was brilliant to see so many local independent businesses exhibiting. Visiting the Richmond Expo is a great way to get a feel of what is happening in the local community. I was hugely impressed with the calibre and professionalism of the organisations and businesses exhibiting, from well-known local businesses like The Lensbury Club to startups and charities exhibiting on the Micro Stands. With 80 exhibitors, it was not possible to speak to everyone, but special mention should go to the wonderful Parker Car Service stand where you could learn about the new iPhone app and credit card service. Thebestof Richmond certainly deserve a mention for their gorgeous stand as they were hosts for the day. But some of the smaller stands proved that they should not be a hidden delight. Lioness Marketing, who have given us a website will scare our competition had some fantastic t-shirts, and with their branded balloons, their raw talent stood out from the crowd. And visual stands were also a treat, like The Garden Room in Syon Park and Annie Armitage – Photographer.
I felt inspired by the amount of local business talent and the huge amount of time and effort to make the stands and show promotions really count today.
Author of Do it or Ditch it! and business partner with Dragon James Caan, Bev James then gave an insightful seminar to get business owners “R.E.A.D.Y. for success. Bev is an authorative, engaging and charismatic presenter guaranteed to inspire and motivate you.
Warren Knight, CEO and co-founder of Gloople, the UK’s 1st fully integrated “Social Sharing” e-commerce platform, had arguably the most difficult job giving the last seminar of the day, captivating the audience with his Social Media and Digital Commerce knowledge, to help them better understand their customers and how to reach them.
For those with enough stamina, there are networking events planned for the 1,000 visitors this evening. I have come away full of inspiration and with my Brad Burton book ‘Get Off Your Arse’ which I bought at the busy 4Networking stand there are no excuses for not growing and improving Accounts Resource. Or for being badly prepared for our exhibition stand at The Business Startup Show which is less than one month away, at the London ExCel Centre. Thank you so much to thebestof Richmond and their fantastic PR partner Michelle Luscombe of Progressive PR for a superb day, which surely has to be the best expo put on by any of the London Boroughs.
A wonderful event! Did you attend today? What did you think of this blog? Would you attend a business expo in the future?
